About Pompeii

Pompeii is a vast archaeological and historical site situated near the coast of the Bay of Naples, which transports you back in time. It was a wealthy city which got buried under with over 19 metres of ash and volcanic debris after the tragic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The city was later discovered in the late 16th century and its excavation and preservation began slowly after that.
